In 2002, The Sorbara Development Group (SDG) began work with the University College and the University of Toronto for the development and construction of a new 275-bed student residence in the heart of the U of T campus which opened in May 2005. Similar to the USMC approach, SDG provided comprehensive project management services for the project, including overseeing the design team, obtaining municipal approvals, detailing project timelines and budgets and liaising with the University community, including students, faculty, staff, alumni and local campus residents.
